God, I just adore Emily Rath. No one does hockey romance like she does. Pucking Sweet is delicious, and whether you’ve never read a hockey romance before or you’re a prior fan of the Jacksonville Rays series, this book will deliver exactly what you’re looking for in a contemporary romance.
Pucking Sweet is a contemporary polyamorous hockey romance surrounding the members of the Jacksonville Rays hockey team, the horniest hockey team that anyone has ever dreamt of. The romance is MMF, with a strong, accomplished heroine and two hockey players, a playboy and a lover boy, who fall for her hard.
Poppy St. James is the public relations queen of the Jacksonville Rays hockey team. She is organized, put together, and always on top of a crisis. She follows all the rules, and one of the most important ones she has is never to date a member of the team. But Lukas Novikov and Cole Morrow don’t make that rule easy to follow. Both of them are determined to have her, and when her family drama blows up in her face, she turns to them for comfort.
And then things get really complicated when the pregnancy test turns up positive. From beginning to end, this story packs in the drama. Jealousy abounds, and each of the three main characters faces their issues and works for their happily ever after.
The character development of the main characters is incredibly well done in this book, it feels authentic and fits in perfectly with the plot. The plot itself is mostly based on interpersonal drama, which I love, and it moves fast. It’s a relatively long book, but it’s without a doubt a page-turner.
The spice is oh-so spicy, and perfectly done. Each scene feels true to the characters and their passion. Pucking Sweet is slightly less overtly kinky than its predecessors but only slightly, and there is still plenty of spice to keep readers plenty satisfied.
I did read this the week before my fiancé’s bachelor party, which if you read the book, you will realize why that was a bad idea. But all’s well that ends well. For both me and the main character.
Pucking Sweet held flawlessly to the standard of the rest of the Jacksonville Rays series. It is a balanced mix of sweet and spicy, with characters that are relatable and shine on the page. If you like messy drama, lots of spice, and a happily ever after that will make you smile, Pucking Sweet is the perfect read.
