After her great-uncle dies, Tilda Wright leaves her life in Las Vegas behind to move into the remote cabin in the Colorado Rockies that now belongs to her.

The property borders the Lonely Peak State Park, where she meets Ethan Grant, a park ranger who takes his job very seriously. Ethan can’t help but notice the purple-haired girl who’s breaking all the rules.

There’s an instant spark between Tilda and Ethan, but things get complicated when they find themselves participating in a dramatic scheme Uncle Jack is conducting from beyond the grave. He’s set them both up, and now they have no choice but to play along.

Ethan and Tilda have such a sweet dynamic, but with such heat simmering below the surface. They are realistic characters that feel both lovable and relatable, which is essential given that this is a very character-driven story.

This couple is so attracted to each other that the reader can feel it through the page. It makes for fiery spice and delectable chemistry that’s a big part of what makes Mountain Grump so much fun to read.

The chapters are short and easily digestible, and the plot is fast-paced, which means this book is super easy to tear through. It’s got some intrigue to it, but still has the tone of a cozy, contemporary romance.

With classic tropes and microtropes, Mountain Grump feels like the quintessential modern romance novel. It’s fun, flirty, and easy to read, with characters that stand out and a story that has depth. I loved this book, and this series as a whole.
