The Tempest Blade is a true culmination of all the stories this author has woven in this six-book series. Along with Ahnna and James as main characters, the author brings back the perspectives of the four main characters from previous books.
These six strong characters remain entirely and wholly themselves, fighting fiercely and loving even more ferociously.
Everything seems dire, if not completely doomed, at the start of this book. One of Jensen’s greatest skills as an author is her ability to miraculously bring these characters back from the brink of total destruction, both emotional and political, with cleverness and grit. Somehow she manages to bring it all together and make it make sense.
The Tempest Blade is lengthy, but easy to fall into. I was utterly absorbed by this book and couldn’t put it down. It is filled with exciting adventures and dangerous political schemes, which makes for a delightful combination, especially when mixed with passionate romance.
The romance in this book is steamy and blends beautifully with the plot. Every scene, with every set of characters, manages to perfectly convey the chemistry built between them in the previous five books.
The Tempest Blade and The Bridge Kingdom series as a whole will forever have a special place in my heart. This sixth book is a perfect conclusion to an artfully crafted series, one that I will reread time and time again.
