Kendra put her trust in the wrong person, a roommate who scammed her out of all her rent, and as a result she has no choice but to move to Colorado to live with her dad. At 32, this is a less than exciting prospect, but Kendra is out of options, and her father has a job waiting for her.

On her way, Kendra decides she needs one more night of freedom, so twenty minutes outside of her father’s rural home, she stops for the night. At the bar next to the motel, she meets Luther, a sexy silver fox perfect for a one-night stand.

It’s a night for the ages, one neither of them will soon forget, but when morning comes, it’s time for them to go their separate ways.

A week later, Luther turns up for breakfast with his best friend Joe and his daughter, who has just moved to town. He’s shocked to discover that the daughter is Kendra, the woman he can’t stop thinking about. Their attraction to each other hasn’t waned in the slightest, but Joe can never know what’s happened between them. Even though they know it’s a risk, they can’t seem to stay away from each other.

Despite the forbidden, slightly taboo nature of this relationship, these two are so fucking cute together. Their chemistry is exceptional, and you can’t help but root for them from their very first interaction. Luther and Kendra are so well-matched, sometimes more than they even realize.

For the first part of the book, the reader knows factually very little about these characters, but you still get a good feel for who they are and what they desire most.

Mountain Daddy, as the title suggests, is an aggressively horny story in the best way possible. The spice is an immediate presence, and it is oh-so hot. There is a perfect level of kink that feels authentic to these characters.

There is a certain confidence to Kendra and Luther’s interactions, particularly the spicy ones. They both know what they want and are happy to indulge that desire.

Mountain Daddy is utterly engrossing. With short chapters and quippy banter, not to mention how invested I was in this couple, I found it impossible to put down. I was actively irritated when I had to put this book down to eat dinner.

This story is, at times, laugh-out-loud funny, with bright humor and an almost Shakespearean sort of comedy. When combined with the sex appeal, from start to finish, this book was a gem.

Verdict: Love It
